4th of July ideas and inspiration: Stars

We are almost done planning what we are making for our pretend 4th of July tomorrow (since little d goes back to TX next week!).  I am so glad I talked him into the cake pops I wanted to make heehee...

here are a few ways to Frost your 4th with stars!

Make a star filled invite for your BBQ! Source

TOTALLY genius idea you can use for any event... stencil, water, flour - AWESOME grass designs!!! Source and tutorial

I heart vertical garland! Punch/cut out stars and attach to twine or ribbon and use for a backdrop or even on an entry way.  Source

...if you are more of a cake box kind of gal - your dessert table doesn't have to suffer! Find star decorations or print off images from the internet onto hard cardstock and cut out - place cupcakes in the middle of each and no one will even question the plain looking cupcakes ;o)  Source and tutorial

4th of July ideas and inspiration: Flags

We are planning to have a "pretend" 4th of July with my stepson since he leaves at the end of the month.  Last year we had a blast making Pop Rock cookies and doing a cookout and ending with fireworks! Here is all the Frosting posted last year for the 4th (here)

How fun and easy is this flag wreath!? Grab a bag of paper flags, a dollar store circle wreath and a few minutes! Source and tutorial

What a fantastic idea for cake balls! Source

Healthy flag option... fruit kabobs! Source

These are on my list! Make using a cupcake cake ball mold and top with stars, m&M and a paper flag! Source

More 4th of July party ideas!

I am SO bummed! We have to postpone our 4th of July party (long story!)... but we are going to do a 4th of July do-over so we can get in on all the fun ideas!  Here are the past ones if you missed them, and here are a few more ideas to Frost your weekend!

Warning! You are about to be hungry! lol....

Pam over at Party Starters totally rocked out Martha's free downloads (They even posted it on Martha)! Super cute! She's also having a 1st blog bday celebration, so check her out! Source and links to downloads

These candles would be great for any party! Look closely... they are colored rubber bands! Just wrap them around, layer - done! No color commitment, I love it! Source found via partydress.net

This is so simple, but I just found it to look so inviting! White paper cones filled with blueberries and strawberries! How easy! Source found entertain exchange

I have seen these posted a lot, but they are SO on my party list! Dip end of waffle cones (yum!) in white chocolate (yum!) and then into sprinkles (triple yum!). This is a great idea for any party! Source

Speaking of ice cream, another trick to add a little Frost to a party is to dip the corners of ice cream sandwiches in chocolate and sprinkles! I am thinking about maybe peanut butter too! YUM! Source

These drinks are sure to wow your guests! How beautiful would they look all in a row waiting for thirsty mouths! Source and recipe

Last attempt to encourage calories... I love the idea of dipping rice crispy treats in chocolate (or anything else for that matter!).  Add a festive ribbon to match your theme and instant glam on a simple treat! Source and tutorial found via ediblecrafts

4th of July (part 2) - seeing stars!

More inspiration for the 4th! Focusing on stars....

Ya'll know I am a sucker for a kabob! I love these pineapple and blueberry kabobs! Perfect for your 4th of July cookout! Source

Cut up a piece of cake (or cheese cake yum!) with a star cookie cutter add a fresh glaze, blueberries and strawberries cut with a smaller cutter! Source

Why not start the morning off with a little festive pancakes! Add blueberries to your mix, and cut out stars and plenty of whipped cream!  Source

I love this take on jello stars! She made them to look like stained glass - very cool! Source

How fantastic are these?!? I love the ones that are done up like flags! I am not sure I have the patience, but they sure are great! Source

4th of July (part 1)

Is anyone else excited about 4th of July?!? I love it - well, I love every holiday I get to eat and not exchange presents rofl... here is a start of a few posts I'll do on ways to Frost your 4th!

I thought these were genius! Sparkler holders! How great would these look on your table?!? ...Might just have to make them for my get together! Source found via simplycreativeinsanity blog

Confetti filled balloons would be great for any occasion! Definitely a great alternative to a pinata! Just use a funnel on the end of a balloon to fill the confetti, then blow up, tie off, hang and va-la! Source

Dress your table with red and white striped fabric, blue runner and starfish for a beachy take on a flag! Lose the stripes and use this setup for a beach themed party! Source: Book:  Parties that Wow

I love these cookies - you can make them with red centers and use them as decoders! The easiest way to make these is to cut out the middle with smaller star cutter, then place a piece of clear candy (like jolly rancher) in the middle, it will melt was the cookie bakes, and va-la! Instant adorable treat! Source

I am in LOVE with this cupcake - why? because it's easy! Make red, white and blue frosting and have at it - add a few star sprinkles to the blue and you have a masterpiece! I was also thinking... why not use sugar cookies where the white is and then icing where the red and blue are - then you would have cookies AND cupcake - hello?!? YUM!
