Baby Bird shower ideas/inspiration

Haven't done a bird themed post in a while! You KNOW how I love birds! Check here for older (but still fresh!) Frosting for a Baby Bird theme.

This is THE exact shower I want when I am expecting! Birds AND rustic!? swoon... So many great details - look at that mossy nest for serving!!! Source (ugh! embarrassed, who knows who's this is?!)

You have to have a bird in a cage! Add elements of moss to give extra texture and color! Source

Add birds hanging from a garland of baby's breath above doorways, buffets or if you are really ambitious - across the room! Source

Love these place cards! Use them as buffet cards, as well - just print a bird image out paper, find someone with good handwriting (note - it's not me! lol), then fold.  Tie twine on each end of a small piece of twig and glue to front of the card.  Source

For desserts... stamp a bird image on cloth or paper, glue around toothpicks and you have instant Frosting! Source

Baby safari - baby shower ideas/inspiration!

A friend at work found out she's having her 2nd boy - totally making me want to have one soon! ... my time will come - maybe next year ;o)

Here is some frosting to add to a baby safari themed baby shower! ...and don't forget about this older (but still fresh!) frosting for safari themes here.

Great tip is to use things around the house (like house plants!) and toys/gifts to help set up the perfect table for your event! Source

Use bright poms and repeat elements like stripes to unify your theme.... Source

Add a fun paper palm tree and some animals to dress up the diaper cake!  p.s. you can find those wooden painted animals a lot of times at Micheal's & AC Moore craft stores... Source

Add animal print where you can! ...and SUPER genius move - adhere crepe paper to the spoon handles! LOVE! Source

Trick for any cake pop... use a round cutter on fondant, draw with edible markers, adhere with royal icing and add a coordinating ribbon! Personalize for any theme! Source

Random baby shower ideas...

Those that know me know that I can't stand not having things in specific categories! I mean, if you have a striped shirt, which color does it get hung with? ;o)  so here are a few random baby shower ideas that will hopefully inspire you to add a little FROSTING to your next one!

How clever is this?!? Foam numbers (you could use any numbers) for the due date and a mint "pacifier" as the period - so cute! Source  (pacifier is just 2 lifesaver mints "glued" together with melted white chocolate and a jelly bean or tic tac for end!)

Here is another take... SOOO stinking cute with the ribbons! These use cookies as the fronts... tie them to another ribbon and create garland! Source

With Easter coming up... save some plastic eggs... insert baby socks, add ribbon - instant fantastic-ness! Source

Who needs a diaper cake when you can have a diaper caterpillar?!? So unique! Source

What a great cake idea! Marshmallows!!! But think too... round boxes, decorate the same way - how you have a display stand! Don't be afraid to cover your display stands with fun items! Source  (Round boxes - buy here - link)

Baby shower party add on...

Add a fun activity to your baby shower and have everyone decorate a bib! It will keep everyone entertain and have something fun for the mom to take home! Buy here - link

Angel Themed Baby Shower/Christening ideas/inspiration

We are looking out the window waiting to see animals marching two by two up the ark! Are you guys getting drowned by this rain too?!?

Here are some ways to Frost an angel theme baby shower or christening!

Start with a beautiful angel wing invite! I love the extra Frosted touch of feathers! Source

Use LOTS of feathers! Do a colored feather if you know the gender of the baby.  Feather centerpieces AND feather placemats AND a feather on each placecard?!? swoon! Source found via http://pisforparty. blogspot.com

Use triangle boxes with angel wings, add the baby's initial and you have a fantastic favor! Source

A feather wishy ball! How beautiful would these be around the party?!? Source

Ok, not quite right... but you get the idea! if you added feathers to the top of the banner and kept the scalloped edges - it would be perfect! (oh first comes marriage then comes the baby carriage, right?!?) Source

Baby shower inspiration

In-laws are here! ... sorry for the quick post... back to playing host! hugs!

Here a few baby shower elements you can use with any baby shower theme!

How stinkin' adorable is this wreath?!? Use strips of any coordinating paper and add a pair of paper or real baby shoes! If you do paper ones, you could even embellish with an initial or glitter, etc! Source, shoe tutorial

A piece of fabric closed with a diaper pin is such an adorable touch you can use at any shower! Use different color pins and you can help people keep track of their drink too! ;o)  Source

I LOVE a great topiary! This sock topiary is not only adorable, but helpful to the mom-to-be as well! Source no longer available :o(

A really sweet idea is to have everyone leave a special message for baby - cover a cork or foam board with coordinating fabric, make embellished cards and hang with thumbtacks. Source

These cookies would be a great edible favor! Use a pregnant belly cookie cutter and cookie stamps to imprint a personalized message.  Source

Milk and Cookie Theme

One of the requests last week on the giveaway was for a cookie and milk baby shower - I LOVE this theme - it's a great way to keep to a small budget, it's gender neutral AND hello - it's cookies!

Set up your cookies in different containers - add labels and a cut of printed paper on the inside for an extra touch! Don't have enough containers? Wrap open boxes in wrapping paper!  Source

So many great elements to inspire - use a great piece of fabric or wrapping paper to create an eye popping backdrop, use colored straws in glasses of milk for any extra touch! You can put the milk in carafes or serve individual bottles .  Source

How fun would it be to get each guest to submit their favorite cookie recipe and hand out recipe books for the favor! You could put whatever the occasion is on the front to always remember! For the mom-to-be (if you do a baby shower) have each guest write something special on the recipe they sent in - each time she makes cookies, she'll remember that special day! Source

Printable cookie bags would be a great way to personalize favor bags AND ensure your guests take home the left overs so you can fit into your jeans next week! lol  Source

The best cookies and milk cake ever! I love this one! You could take inspiration from it and make milk bottles out of paper or felt and put around as decoration.  Glue them to an inexpensive tablecloth for a special touch - or string them together for a cute banner! Source

Baby Bird Theme!

You know my obsession with birds runs deep lol... so here is a few ideas to frost your next baby bird party or baby shower! Great gender neutral theme, too!

Is this not the cutest invite?!? I so want to have a baby girl just so I can have this at my baby shower and then have it painted on the nursery wall! Source

Why not create paper birds with many coordinating papers, add ribbon and a stick and va-la! Instant fabulous centerpiece! Stick them in birds nest, in candy containers or even as your cake topper! Source and tutorial

Get creative with coordinating cupcake toppers! These would be adorable favor tags too! Source

I know you might be scared to try... but this little fondant birdie would be so perfect for this theme! Take you time and go step by step, you will be surprised at what you can do! Source and tutorial

I always love this idea with the toasted coconut and robins eggs... this one is on brownies which makes me extra happy! Source

Baby Boy Shower - My sis did!

Crafting and parties runs in the family! .... and so does non-professional photo taking rofl..... Here are some of the great details my sis did for her bff's baby shower... didn't she do a fantastic job?!? The style of Frost Me! is not to post one whole party, but it's my sis, so I'm breaking the rules ;o)

Here are the custom invites she designed and made for the shower....

She made all of these booties, topiary and favor bags!

How fantastic did she do?!? Gumballs, paper flowers and green skittles in the pot - how genius!

She made the favor bags with the sonogram....

She added details at the bottom of an inexpensive tablecloth to match the invites!

Cute onesie banner.....

A block box she made to put guesses for a game in....

Lastly.... every baby shower needs a great diaper cake!

Pastel Safari - Baby Shower Theme

I love a great zoo or safari theme (me and my fiance' have a zoo pass even ;o) so why not switch it up and go pastel and use it as a baby shower or 1st birthday theme?

I thought this would be the perfect invite to get the ball rolling! Source

These little favor bags personalized with the birth date and name would be so sweet! Source

Elephants look familiar? They were in my Ikea shopping Sat post! She attached them on top of clear favor boxes and filled with animal crackers... how cute do they look!?!  Source found via partyperfectblog

You could give out little baby elephant soaps as favors or stash them in the favor bags above! Put a pile in a basket in the bathroom at the party to carry the theme throughout the party space! Source

A diaper, washcloth or blanket "cake" is always a great centerpiece to the party! Source

Why not get a matching brag book, or guest book that guests can write sweet messages to the new baby in.  Source

Ending on a sweet note, you could add animal faces to onesies and rattle cookies! Source
