More Easter ideas/inspiration: Carrots

Planning an Easter celebration? A few more ideas/inspiration - focus: carrots!

Super adorable idea... not just for Easter, but for your garden parties too! Source and tutorial

These are my FAV! Super easy - store bought crescent rolls and cream horn forms (just bought some myself - here) - paint on some food coloring, bake then add some egg salad and fresh dill - ta-da! Source and tutorial found via edible crafts blog

Not sure if I can muster up the courage to sew this weekend, but these are super adorable! I love all the coordinating but different fabrics! Source and tutorial

(from last year's stash...but oh so fab) Plastic silverware never looked so good! Roll your napkin and tie off with two different green colored pipe cleaners! Source and tutorial

First, OMG! Thank you ALL for your emails and posts supporting me and the magazine! It just solidifies my decision to keep pushing forward and finish it on my own!

...Let's get this party restarted!!!

Hello?! this is SO me! Moss & twine, can I get a heck yeah!? Not only a great Easter idea, but use for any theme (maybe even my wedding ;o)  - I love the extra detail of little flowers here and there! Source and tutorial

Having an Easter brunch? These ham and egg cups would be so adorable! Easy to bake in a muffin tin! Serve on greens for a beautiful presentation! Source

Easter is coming! Ideas/Inspiration

Easter is REALLY late this year... so time to plan! ...don't just dye eggs this year, add a little frosting!

Every holiday I swear I am going to make a matching wreath... it never seems to happen lol... IF I ever get around to an Easter wreath - this would be it! Source and tutorial

Such a simple project! (also wondering if you could use no sew on doll stockings at the bottom - that's the same shape!) You could stuff with stuffing or even a surprise! Source and tutorial

After dyeing your eggs... add a paper flower cut-out and use on your table for extra cuteness! Source and free template download

I love that people are designing these neighbor tags for every holiday now! I definitely need to do something for mine! Source and download

Happy Easter!

First, don't forget to enter the giveaway for a $50 gift certificate to a homemade party Etsy store!  ends Friday!

Hope everyone enjoys today - I know it is absolutely gorgeous outside here! Going out to breakfast - can't wait to see some of the kids all dressed up in their little Easter outfits!

Figured I'd share a pic of what I was up to yesterday.... this design was by request of my friend Ann so she could take to her family's today.

If you ever want "go to" recipes for yellow and chocolate cakes and basic icings... here are mine:

I always forget to take pics! I am so bad... so they were already tied up in the box ;o)  I wish I could have fit 3 eggs in each nest, but I couldn't use peanut M&Ms because of a food allergy of a guest....

More Easter!

Ok, last Easter post! I have so much baking to do for a friend starting tomorrow - I'll be tired of looking at cookies and cupcakes until at least Sunday ;o)  Hope you all have off tomorrow! Make sure you check in tomorrow for something special....

Are you not cracking up!?! These little guys totally make me chuckle every time I see this picture! Made with mini cupcakes, Milano cookies, marshmallows and chocolate covered peanuts?  I scanned this from one of the million magazines I subscribe to and now I don't know which one sorry!!  I have dibs on the black sheep - it's most fitting ;o)

How fun is this idea? Mini cupcakes put into an egg carton! What a great hostess gift! They will be surprise when then open it up! And everyone (but the kids) will thank you for the calorie proportion lol  Source

I so need to use my brownie pop mold more! These would make great last minute treats for Sunday! You could embellish as little or as much as you had time (or patience) for!  Source

Homemade marshmallow bunnies - so dang cute! They would be great for a little girl's sleepover with everyone getting bunny slippers! - that's actually what they remind me of! Source and tutorial found via Nofussfabulous

Cookie bunny pop - yum! The lady reposted with a full tutorial - love her!  How cute would these be if you put them all into fake grass and then put the "carrot" utensils I posted before in front... so darling!  (I don't know why I just wrote that, I never say darling - lol)... Source and tutorial

Decorating for Easter

With all the rain we have had it seems like April already! Hope you all are finding the time to plan for Easter! All I am planning now is a nap and it's 7:30 in the morning lol... Hope these ideas might help inspire your Easter decor!

What a beautiful alternative to a wreath!?! Stuffed full of vibrant flowers and plastic eggs - would transition from holiday to regular days so easily! You could change out the inside and the ribbon for a whole new look! Just keep it full so the postman doesn't use it for bills ;o)  Source:  Magazine: Southern Living 04.2010

Yarn eggs would look fantastic outside or in! This would be a great project to make with the kids too! Just need a few supplies - like balloons yarn and glue and you are on your way!  You could make them in half and use for a basket or candle holder, too! Source and tutorial

I have seen this one a lot, so forgive me for posting, but I just LOVE it! How whimsical is that!?! The colors are so amazing too! Think about all the different candies you could put in to match your next occasion - just make sure you put a cup or bowl inside for the water for the flowers or you'll have a big gloppy mess!  Source found via Celebration Shoppe

If a more natural look is what you are looking for, these nesting balls would be perfect! If you look close, there are carefully blown out eggs slid into a twig ball and hung by silk ribbon.  You could cheat too and get some small plastic eggs ;o)  Great for a baby bird baby shower theme, too! Source

I loved this Easter tablescape! Don't you just want to be invited to their brunch!?!  Full of bird houses, birds and Easter eggs really makes you crave Spring!  Source

Easter bunnies!

Is it just me or did Easter just sneak right up on us!?! I feel like there is no time to prepare this year! Here are a few bunny related ideas to make your Easter special!

ps. don't forget to help me with newsletter ideas! I am excited to start doing more!

How adorable is he!?! She added fondant to a regular chocolate egg and va-la!  If you break down each component, I think it wouldn't be too hard to pull off (well, maybe the carrots would heehee).  She even did Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head, they cracked me up! Source and tips on how to make.

These would be so perfect to serve lunch in or a special surprise! If you are hosting Easter dinner, you could send guests home with a slice of zucchini bread or some other dessert in one of these - a table full of all these pastels would surely look fabulous! I am a bedazzler, so I would have to add glitter, ribbons and/or stamps and dress it up a bit.  You could even add the guest's name to each bunny!  Source

These bunny cake pops are my fav I have seen.  It's an old stashed photo - I thought they were Bakerella, but they aren't.  Source unknown :o(

A cookie sandwich is the best way to justify eating two cookies at one time ;o)  You could use this idea with any cookie cutter, any theme! I love how the tail has a little dot of white! Source

Have to have carrots for the bunnies! They took popsicle sticks and glued carrots to the end, "planted" them in a box and each guest "picked" their name out of the "garden" to reveal their table number! You could turn this into a matching game with different veggies for the young ones to play (pull them out one by one till you match two potatoes, or two carrots, etc), or attach a small bag of seeds to the back as a favor! Easter is how close?

OH my, can't seem to get ahead this year! You ever make decisions that you question if you have a drinking problem even if you don't drink? Well, I just took on 2 MBA classes - late registration which means I have to make up last week and this week by Sunday.  I just am finishing up my MPA and figured why not get a dual Master? Am I insane? I think I need an intervention! lol... any way, before it's too late, put down your green beer and pick up some Easter grass! ;o)  ps. check out Facebook for fun foam egg decorations!

Awwww how sweet!?! These simple "grass" egg cups would display any egg proudly! You could also use them as placecards or buffet card holders for Easter dinner... Looking at the shape - modify it a bit and you'd have a crown - you could use for princess or prince parties - fill them with candy or make them big enough to have cups sit inside! Source and tutorial

How dang cute!?!? Simple orange napkins wrapped with 2 colors of pipe cleaners - with green silverware (A dollar store project if I ever saw one!).  Why not take it up a notch and put them in a wooden box with some brown tissue paper so your guest can "pull" the carrot up out of the "garden"! Source and tutorial

Paper lilies! How sweet!?! These would be so much fun to make with the kids and to use as centerpieces or make smaller ones and use as a paper corsage!  Source and Tutorial

YUM! Chocolate covered rice crispy treats! I think I would use a pastel chocolate just to make them even more "spring like".  Use a cookie cutter to do the shapes.  You could do them with or without the popsicle sticks (depending if you enjoy licking chocolate off your hands ;o)  You could modify these for any theme - why not dip each side in a different color, or make the crispies in another shape or tie them with ribbon if you don't want to decorate - lots of ways to present them!
