Hot air balloon party ideas and inspiration

Still trying to kick my hubby's cold he gave me! grrrr! Work has definitely left me with very little time to catch my breath, too... I say it's about time for a summer vacation!

 ...have you ever done a hot air balloon ride? I have! It was AMAZING! A hot air balloon or Up! Movie theme would be adorable! Don't forget about this older, but still fresh!, Frosting for a hot air balloon theme here! (link)

Take simple white balloons and wrap with ribbon and attach a little box to create a sky full of hot air balloons! Source

Cut out different colored balloon shapes, fold down the middle, glue and add string, then hang at different heights to create a fun hanging garland.  Source and tutorial

For the favors... take inexpensive gift bags, bakers twine and balloons and fill with a fun plush that's along for the hot air balloon ride! Source

A fun kids theme could be Hot Air Balloons or that movie "Up"! I rode in a balloon once and it was MAGICAL! ...You could fill the party space with tons of balloons and wouldn't it be fun if you could get a basket big enough for at least one kid, tie some balloons on and use it for the photo op!?! You could cut out cloud shapes and hang them at all different levels hanging down

The centerpieces could be balloons with a house or basket depending on your theme... so quick and easy and really fill up a space - you could even anchor them to the ceiling so the centerpieces actually float above your head!  You can even get nets to go over the balloons here.  Source

These would be easy for any level of baking skill! Cut out hot air balloon shapes out of different patterned paper and squeeze a bunch of icing in the middle - plop it down and ta-da!  Source
