I love that vintage is so in this year! Not just in weddings, but baby showers too! Here are a few ideas to help Frost your next vintage inspired baby shower!

Random baby shower ideas...

Those that know me know that I can't stand not having things in specific categories! I mean, if you have a striped shirt, which color does it get hung with? ;o)  so here are a few random baby shower ideas that will hopefully inspire you to add a little FROSTING to your next one!

How clever is this?!? Foam numbers (you could use any numbers) for the due date and a mint "pacifier" as the period - so cute! Source  (pacifier is just 2 lifesaver mints "glued" together with melted white chocolate and a jelly bean or tic tac for end!)

Here is another take... SOOO stinking cute with the ribbons! These use cookies as the fronts... tie them to another ribbon and create garland! Source

Angel Themed Baby Shower/Christening ideas/inspiration

Here a few baby shower elements you can use with any baby shower theme! 

 How stinkin' adorable is this wreath?!? Use strips of any coordinating paper and add a pair of paper or real baby shoes! If you do paper ones, you could even embellish with an initial or glitter, etc! Source, shoe tutorial

A piece of fabric closed with a diaper pin is such an adorable touch you can use at any shower! Use different color pins and you can help people keep track of their drink too! ;o)  Source

I LOVE a great topiary! This sock topiary is not only adorable, but helpful to the mom-to-be as well! Source no longer available :o(

A really sweet idea is to have everyone leave a special message for baby - cover a cork or foam board with coordinating fabric, make embellished cards and hang with thumbtacks. Source

These cookies would be a great edible favor! Use a pregnant belly cookie cutter and cookie stamps to imprint a personalized message.  Source

Baby Sprinkle/Shower

You could go more cute then elegant side and do blue raindrops out of paper and use fishing line to attach them.  Source

Add umbrellas to each glass - stamp them with a "welcome baby" or "baby sprinkle" or the date the baby is due.  Source

Use inexpensive plain mini umbrellas all around or on favors.  You can decorate them with paint, stickers or my favorite... glue and glitter! Source and purchase

Pink Baby Shower (Part 1)

I just got a call to plan a pink-themed baby shower on a TIGHT budget! I am excited to start! Here are a few peeks at my inspiration so far...  I promise to post more and to post pics of the party (it's not until mid March).  Check out Facebook for the most adorable cookies...

I love this idea... these days you can get onsies at the dollar store!  I can either cut out paper or fabric "BABY" and hang it for a great and inexpensive banner! Source

Not really pumpkin season, but trying to think outside the box - I LOVE how these turned out and would really dress up a table for very little money! Maybe I can do different sized fruits - cantaloupe, apples, etc...  Source

This adorable washcloth cake would look stunning! I love the idea of the wash/burp cloths instead of diapers - since diapers have designs now and it kind of takes away from the look.  And how fantastically elegent does it look on the cake stand!!?!? The Source has a tutorial on how to do the elephants too!!!

This is SUCH a fun game to play...baby food tasting! Ensure to add some not so tasty flavors! Person that guesses the most wins! Source

Duck Themed Shower

MORE SNOW! UGH! Get me out of here! Can't wait to move! If anyone reading lives in OR, let me know, we are trying to find a great town that doesn't have too much snow!  Good news is - no work AGAIN today! But 8-10 more inches coming!  A comment left yesterday led me to find the cake below and inspired me to post inspiration for a Duck Themed Shower...

These cute duck centerpieces would be a quick and easy way to dress up the table! Some dollar store items and ta-da! Add some coordinating colored plates and placemats and you have a cohesive look.  Source

Duck topped cupcakes awwwww.... I love the red with the light blue and yellow - it really pops! One thing I do when I tackle creating toppers is just put them on a few of the whole set of cupcakes - still looks fantastic and you don't spend days creating them! Also, less people feel guilty for not eating them lol... a mouth full of fondant is really not the best chew even though it looks fantastic lol!  Source

This was too cute - can't tell if it's cake, but here's my thoughts.... use a duck cookie cutter and cover in yellow colored chocolate or icing.  Then cover a graham cracker in red chocolate or icing... looks like lifesavers for the wheels.  The eye could be done with an edible marker.  Attack the cookie using icing - this is all in my head lol so if the cookie doesn't stand easy, could carve a little line into the graham cracker for stability and make sure you make the cookies pretty thick.  Pic Source

To go with the duck in water theme, these rubber ducky soaps are the perfect favor! These would be super easy to make with a simple soap mold and basic glycerin found at your local craft store and dollar store duckies. Source 

And finally, the cake that inspired the post (Thanks Colleen for the blog love!).  This adorable cake would be the frosting on this party!  With all these bubbles going on, I think it would only be appropriate to serve Champagne or something bubbly! I mean, you have to stay true to the theme, right? heehee   Source
