Farm/Barn party ideas and inspiration

When Fall gets near, I can't help but think of one of my favorite party themes - Farm parties! I think about cool Fall walks through the petting zoos and off to the pumpkin patch to find the perfect one to take home!

So today (though it's almost 90 degrees!) let's grab some inspiration for a Farm/Barn party! ...don't forget about this older, but still fresh!, Frosting for a Barn party here (link)

How fun is this table setup?! Lots of height, color, texture and FUN! I love the small touches like the red wagon, gingham print and stuffed animals! Source

Setup a themed photo op! Some eggs, baskets and a chalkboard would help create an adorable photo keepsake! Source

Dip rice krispies into white chocolate and add dark chocolate cow spots! Source

With a steady hand and a bag full of yellow gumballs... you can create these adorable chicks for your guests! Source and tutorial

Farm/Barn party ideas/inspiration

I hope everyone is getting a taste of Fall! The weather here has been AMAZING! Still having a hard time posting in between wedding month! But soon it will be here and then I can refocus!

Here are some ideas for a Fall farm/barn party... don't forget about older (but still fresh!) frosting here

Cute farm table setup - I love fabric cloud background! All the red for the party really pops! Source

I never get tired of seeing new cake pops! "Fresh eggs" cake pops served up with a little gingham ribbon in a crate is just genius! Source

Having trouble finding milk bottles? Use flip top spice jars that you can find at most craft stores or Dollar Tree! Source

Cake dipped in caramel dipped in toasted coconut not only sounds delicious, you can make them look like hay bales! Source

Cover round containers with bandannas with a little moss on top to make an adorable "cake" for the party! Source

Farm/Barn party inspiration/ideas

Farm/Barn parties are so much fun! You can either hold it on an actual farm or turn your house into one! Don't forget about older (but still fresh!) frosting for farm/barn parties!

What a fantastic setup! A bail of hay and lots of mums really set the stage for a great farm party! Source

I love the idea - for any party! - is to decorate the front of your tablecloth! Even if you just print out shapes, trace onto fabric and use no sew - you can do it! Source

How genius?!? A tri-fold board cut and decorated! Wonder what other shapes you could do for other parties?!? Princess crown? Cupcake?! Source

I love "lunch box" style - so easy for a large group! Simple farm boxes with a piece of cloth & a tie.  Even better are the placecards! I love the burlap and aged paper! Source lost :o(

The cutest hay stacks EVER! Rice krispy treats dipped in white chocolate and brown chocolate "cow spots" - stinkin' clever! Source

More Farm Theme Party Ideas

I have a few farm/barn theme ideas posted before, but I always have more! Here are a few more ideas to add the extra fun touch to your farm/barn theme party! This theme is always so much fun because it's so gender neutral!

You could use black vinyl or paint to create these "cow spots" on the soda or milk bottles.  Add a barn tag and some twine and you boring drinks are now theme fantastic! Source and fantastic rest of party

Are you in love with these as much as I am? Stinkin adorable! Would take some patience with fondant and some sculpting, but the end result is adorable! Create the rounded top with cake or half of a whoopie pie would work too! Source

Why create an invite or favor inside a small egg carton! Source (same as milk bottles)

You could create pigs out of eggs! This is a project even the kids could help with! I love how they did the "mud" under the pigs too! Source and tutorial

Why not use personalized stationary for thank you notes or have these done in invites, favor tags, cupcake toppers, etc! Source

How cute is this rooster cupcake! I love that it was served on feathers! How cute would that be to do under cupcakes for a "little angel" baby shower or pink feathers for a diva party!  Source

Repackaging...

Was feeling a little crafty - I tried not to over craft this, though because  I wanted to show how you can take inspiration from store packaging and make your own pretty easy - just 2 pieces of paper and twine! I found this caramel corn "corn on the cob" at my local Walgreens for $1 - I thought HEY! This would be so cute in better packaging! (Wish I could have done a whole basket full!) You could make homemade caramel corn and packaging for a picnic/bbq or farm theme party! Hope it inspires you to try to repackage something!

Barnyard/Farm (Part 2)

I am working hard on the Pink Baby Shower and can't wait till it's all done so I can show you guys the pics!! Next weekend I'll finally be able to show you one of my own parties ;o)  For now, let's take a look at frosting for a Barn Yard theme (here was Part 1)  - I just can't stop adoring a Barn Yard theme! There is just so much fun stuff to fit into the theme! Check out Facebook for one of Bakerella's amazing cake pops...

How fun is this cute cardboard box turned barn!?!? They really put a lot of detail into it! They even made a window box! I am so in love with this project! Source

Why not make fun party hats for all the kids to wear - or better yet, have all the pieces cut and have the kids make them! After all the laying around this winter, all I ask is that I not wear the cow one ;o)  Source

These are candles! They come with a barn stand - I think these would be perfect for decorations even though I found them on a wedding favor blog ;o)  Source

These "hay bales" are just adorable! I think she may have done them with icing but I bet you could get a rice crispy treat to come close too.  Source

These red check chinese style favor boxes are so dang cute with little pigs and raffia and a clothes pin! Source

Taking "cake balls" to a new level! These cake ball truffle animals are cute enough to play with! Source

And lastly, super cute cupcake toppers - though the cow on the top right looks like he sat on a pitch fork rofl... Source found via http://cupcakestakethecake.blogspot.com/

Barnyard

I shouldn't say that feeling like a fat cow today inspired this post rofl... but I think it did! Some days you just feel 800 lbs more than what you are! ;o) ... I think a great kids theme is barnyard.  It's so versatile and you can really go all out or go simple and it'll turn out great.  I did this theme for my nephew when he turned 1 five years ago, but we flew down to FL to do his party and I wasn't the experience party enthusiast I am now and couldn't really pack much for the plane so it wasn't something I could brag about now, but I have included two pics from the party anyway...

Every great party starts off with a great invite! I thought these invites were just so simple, yet so perfect! The barn doors open up to reveal the party information.  Source

To match your invites, create a barn door on a wall - interior or exterior.  Set up a stool or haystack (even better) in front to have the kids have their pictures taken.  Pass out straw hats as part of the party favors to make the pictures extra cute! Maybe even put a few farm stuffed animals around to finish off the scene.  Source

This is a pic from the party I threw my nephew.  I blew up white balloons and colored "cow spots" on with a permanent marker.  Super simple (and easy to pack in the suitcase!).
I thought that feed bags would be really cute but I didn't have a sewing machine at the time... I took pieces of burlap and stapled them all the way around with a regular office stapler - no lie! - and turned them inside out and put bandannas in them and wrote "FEED" on them.  No one ever knew my "no sew" secret (until now) lol...
