Party drink ideas and inspiration

I don't know about you guys but we are almost underwater here! What a crazy rain day! A lot of our town had to shut down! All errands were put on major hold which was good anyway, the little guy was needing snuggles most of the day! Hope he is feeling ok!

...I love to see drinks dressed up at parties! Here are a few ideas to Frost your drinks at your next event! Don't forget about older, but still fresh!, Frosting for your drinks here (link)

Love this idea! ...rim your bottles (or glasses) with chocolate! Add a fun straw and paper flag to have the cutest drink bar setup! Source

For another fun idea, add a ring of tinsel and/or strip of craft paper/felt/fabric and rhinestones for a fancier look! Source

...and a super simple idea - slice of orange as a topper is not only inexpensive, adorable and colorful... but would keep out any insects (though not sure if it would attract more to it lol)  Source and recipe

For these cold months, set up a hot cocoa bar! Source

Even serving tea can be Frosted! How beautiful is this setup?! Source
Having brunch? How about a bloody mary bar?! (p.s I LOVE tomatoes in every single way you can serve them... except bloody mary/tomato juice - totally grosses me out!) Source

Party Drink Ideas/Inspiration: Fruit!

Finally home from the hairdressers! Have you ever waited so long you are shocked how good you look just with a trim!? lol! As the warmer weather comes around we all start thinking about and eating more fruit!

Here are some ideas to incorporate fruit into your party drinks!

Simple way is to cut up some colorful fruit and place in ice water!  Not only beautiful, but delicious! Source

If you don't want to put the fruit in the water... set up a cute water/fruit station! Great way to allow your guests to make their own blends - we'll even let cucumber in, even though it's not a fruit ;o)  ...that and ginger are my fav things to put in water! Source

Another beautiful way is to freeze pieces of fruit in ice cube trays! (also try edible flowers too!) Source unknown :o(

My favorite way to have fruit in a drink... sangria!! Isn't this a cute way to server it up?! Mason jars, metal container and a rustic sign - definitely my style! Source

Fruit drinks - ideas and inspiration!

Wow - sinusitis is KILLING me this week! ugh - with a little nose spray (ew!) I am starting to feel a little better!

Here are a few ideas to inspire you to add some fruit in a new way to your party spreads!

Fruit puree ice cubes - genius!!! Fantastic way to not water down your drinks, add color and flavor! YUM! Source and recipe

Frozen melon margarita pops! Just make sure to keep these "hidden yummies" away from the kids - adults only! Source and recipe

Simple way to incorporate fruit into your drinks - grapes on kabobs! Because of grapes high water content, they are easily frozen and make great "ice" too! Source

Dig out some strawberries and transform them into margarita jello shots! hello?!? yum!!! Source and recipe found via edible crafts blog

Drink ideas....

too much going on today! here's a quick post on how to Frost your drink selections!

You know me and my burlap! I am not sure I am down with the sharing part... but I love the juxtaposition of the rustic burlap with the soft velvet ribbon! Source

Speaking of wine, I LOVE this "temporary etching" with a stencil, corn syrup and cinnamon! (or any fine spice or powder really) Source

Maybe something harder is more your style ;o)  Create a fun vodka station with jars (you can get from craft store for a buck!) filled with different items to use with the drinks! Source forgotten :o(

Create festive ice shot glasses! You can freeze just about anything inside the ice to add that little extra something! Just use a shot glass mold. Source

A fun alternative to regular shots are these strawberries filled with jello/daiquiri mix! I love that they are "rimmed" in sugar and the lime makes them extra cute! Source found via ediblecrafts

Apple party ideas!

I love including fruit and veggies into any party decor - inexpensive, colorful and yummy! Why not do an apple themed party? Would be fun to have everyone go to an orchard and pick apples, come back to a fun setup with some of these dabs of frosting...

Think of unique ways to incorporate! I love how they just set them under glass! You could find the round glass at stores like Wal-mart & Target by the table linens.  Source found via barefootbird blog

Cut them up and use them in an apple martini or apple cider mix - use a few whole apples around as decoration.  Source and recipe (slide 15)

I found this apple and flower centerpiece to be gorgeous! You could have to use skewers into styrofoam to hold them in, but wow! Source

Totally on my list to buy now... apple candle carver! hello?!? fantastic! Such an inexpensive way to add such character! Source

I HAVE to put a candied apples on this post! I think these are EXTRA fab! The packaging totally makes this great! - how fantastic are those little flags? - Just craft paper with stickers - any one can do it! Source

Picnic Theme!

I love a great picnic - we try to go at least once a week to the park to have one.  I also love a great indoor picnic! The kids always think that is so silly and fun! A picnic theme party would fit right in for the summer!

How perfect would this be for an invite? Source unknown

This picnic setup is just darling! Use lots of red checked fabric - if you click on the pic to see it larger, you'll see a set of mini picnic baskets for each guest in the right corner! cute! Source

Wrap up a fresh roll with silverware and a coordinating napkin, secure with twine and you have a great idea for any party! Source

How fun are these little guys?!? Metal ants would be adorable to use as napkin weights or just decoration! Source found via ilovelolliblog

Serve juice in jam or mason jars and use a metal bucket to give a more outdoor feel! I love how the tied the bandanna on for an extra pop of color! Source

...or if you are serving open glasses, try this idea! This has to be one of my favorite this year! Attach beads to 4 corners of fabric and va-la! For people like me...I would suggest cutting the fabric with pinking shears and glue buttons or something with weight to each corner and leave the sewing machine to collect more dust rofl... Source

Even something as simple as packaging cookies in brown bags with a wraparound label, a little twine in a cute basket sets the scene! Source
