Fall party and decorating inspiration

I am sure not everyone has this amazing Fall weather, but we are having the best temps! Fall is my fav time of year - mild days and cool nights equals lots of snuggles in quilts, hot cider and pumpkin flavored everything!

Here are some ideas to get your Fall parties Frosted! Don't forget about older, but still fresh!, Frosting ideas for your Autumn festivities here (link)

When I think cool weather, I think hot foods! Do up a Fall themed chili bar! Use barrels of hay to create height and dimension and pumpkins for splashes of color! Chili is also a great low cost option for large crowds! Source

What's a Fall party without caramel apples?! Have fun by dipping the ends into different toppings! Source

Up-cycle an old screen into a fall leaf! These would be great as garland, placecards or table decorations! Source and tutorial

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I hope everyone is off to a great Thanksgiving start! Things are pretty lazy here - scones for breakfast and a bit of tv and internet time! I want to say that today I am super thankful for all of you! The past few months have been really challenging and I know my blogging has suffered because of it - things are settling down for me and I am thankful for all of you that are sticking with me! Best wishes to all for a beautiful, food filled, safe and happy day with friends, family or whomever you celebrate with!

Thanksgiving dinner - touches for large gathering

I am still planning what to make for Thanksgiving oopsie ;o) It's just me and the hubby - so it'll be fine! no stress!

When you are entertaining for a large group, you often don't have enough serving pieces If you are looking for a few special touches to Frost your large dinner party- maybe these can inspire!

If you are having a buffet style... set up your plates with colorful cloth napkins in between - definite eye catcher! Source

You absolutely have to have fresh dinner rolls with Thanksgiving dinner! Why not fold a beautiful tea towel and give them a cozy place to live and keep warm? Perfect solution to not having enough bread baskets to go around! Source and tutorial

Having a lot of guests and don't have enough placemats? Purchase some inexpensive burlap and shred the edges, using a stencil add fun words that will bring a smile to your guests! Source

Not enough napkin rings? Print your menu out and cut into strips to use instead! Guests will know what to choose from AND it looks fantastic! Source

Fall party inspiration: Leaves

Does it feel more like winter at your house then Fall today?! brrrr...

If you have a Autumn party planned, why not add a little Fall Frosting with some leaves! (We don't have too many left after the hurricane, but it is still Fall even if it doesn't feel or look like it!).

How beautiful is this textured paper leaf wreath?! Not only would it be great on any door welcoming your party guests... lay it flat and put a serving platter in the middle for a beautiful centerpiece.  Use your embossing folders with leaf cutouts (I think you can find some pre-cut and embellished at the craft store).  Attach to foam or wooden wreath base...or Michaels may still carry the kit.  Source: Martha Stewart

Use old books to cut out leaf shapes and make festive garland! Source and tutorial

These plaster leaves would make great placecards, favor tags or just beautiful garland. Source and tutorial

Wanna get fancy and impress your guests?! Cut your lasagna pieces with a leaf cookie cutter! Source

Pumpkin Carving Party

I feel like I am forcing myself not to post Halloween yet... so Pumpkin Carving is safe, right?! I am so loving my cold Fall evenings and mornings!

Hosting a pumpkin carving party would be a great way to get everyone over to spend some quality girl time without a lot of expense... except all the wine, of course ;o)

Just because you don't need a lot of supplies, doesn't mean they can't look stylish! Serve up spoons, carving knives and mugs for cider on a tray.  Use mason jars, fall colored napkins and fall touches like leaves or apples.  Source

You could set up a craft station, too, for those that would rather decorate then carve... include items to decoupage like leaves, have paints, gemstones, tacks, etc.  For a party idea, have each person bring an embellishment for everyone to dig into.  Source

Frost your party entrance with a big chalkboard WELCOME! with plenty of different color and shaped pumpkins! You could even make it a "pumpkin adoption station" so everyone can pick one to decorate! Source

Besides serving up a buffet full of pumpkin indulgences, you could send your guests home with their pumpkins AND fresh pumpkin butter! You could also do a small burlap pouch of pumpkin seeds! Source: Stonewall Kitchen
