Hope everyone's weekend was as beautiful as it was here! All the trees are opening up (so lots of sneezing!) Love having the windows open, though!

On to party dreaming! ...One of the most common, yet most appropriate themes for little girls is princess! You can make it as posh or as cartoon-like as you would like! Don't forget about older, but still fresh!, Frosting for a Princess party - HERE

How over-the-top is this set-up?! Who wouldn't love that super full tulle skirt!!! Love the different shades of pink, too! Source

Use items you might already have! A fancy princess dress can become a eye-catching centerpiece! Use fancy frames to put coordinating party quotes or pictures.  Source

Find ways to add a touch of bling throughout your event! Simple, inexpensive jewel trim can be added to items like milk bottles to ensure your princesses have something fancy to sip from! Source

Princess/Ballerina Party Ideas and Inspiration!

Who doesn't love a Princess/Ballerina party! (here are some previous princess Frosting tips!)   ... and don't forget to leave your fav party link on yesterday's post!

This adorable little setup shows how making small little clusters of items can make a huge impact for your party! You probably already have something similar to all of these items if you have a girl! Source

Just found this one from the links! - how stinkin' clever! Tutus around the bottom of the cupcake towers? - genius!!! Source

Forget tissue paper poms! you need tulle poms for this party! Source and tutorial

Have lots of pink around! These dipped marshmallows with white tips would love fantastic on a pink dessert table! Source

...and top off the dessert buffet with these flashy princess cupcakes! I love the little crowns on top (but make sure they don't eat them!) Source

Pink party ideas...

Here are some ways to frost your next pink themed party.... but look closely, you can do these for any color or theme!

A great idea for any party (and helps control heat/sun on the food!)... a party canopy! Hang coordinating fabric on the inside for an eye drawing pop of color! Love the over-sized balloons too! Also, don't be afraid to mix different shades of the same color! Source unknown :o(

Make these tulle balls (hopefully less frustrating than then tissue paper ones! lol)  Source and tutorial

Here's a fun way to add a little color throughout your party space! Ribbons and bow garland! Source

Look for ways to incorporate your color into even store bought items... Love how simple labels and handmade blowers turn these simple metal containers into fabulous favors! Source

I love all these pink details!!! Sprinkled covered marshmallows with a sweet little flower top on the lolli sticks! Like any great dessert table, other coordinating candies are placed throughout.  Peek in the corner - I love the fur and boa details!!! Source

Pink and green

First... I try not to write too much non-party on this blog, so if you are ever curious as to who is underneath the frosting... I just launched a personal blog today to capture my life, shopping, crafting, etc on... feel free to peek in ;o)

on to parties... you think I might like pink and green? Hello!?! look, around... heehee... here are a few shots of frosting that might inspire you for your next event...

Who doesn't want to be at this party!? Key elements that you can apply to any party are keeping number of colors low and playing everything into those colors! It's ok to do shades of the same color family - you see here, it really works... and a ceiling full of lanterns! Magical!  Source

With so many drink options out there today, you are bound to find one to coordinate with your party! If not... make your own and reuse glass bottles! I love the green cozies peeking up on the bottles and the simple bucket to display them in.  How fun would these be to put on each table so guest can serve themselves easily?!?  Source

I know what you are thinking... Kim, a diaper stacker? are you crazy? (first, yes, yes I am... lol)... but here me out... think outside the box (or umm diaper holder)... What if you tied this to the side of table to hold napkins or to the back of the bday girl's chair to hold goodies... think about ways to use things unconventionally! Source

Use a topiary form or a styrofoam ball on a stick to create the base for a ribbon topiary! You can coordinate ANY party colors into on of these for very little cost!  Source and tutorial

Ribbon and flower garland would look so beautiful draped anywhere! You can do this with a simple paper punch at the craft store in the shape of a flower and large wooden beads (painted to match).  String them together and va-la! Beauty! Source and tutorial

I love these argyle cupcake wrappers! They would be perfect for this event.... Source

Ending on a sweet note... this cake is so fantastic! Source

Princess/Ballerina

WOOHOO! No work AGAIN today because of the weather! ...This post would be the "frosting" on any Princess/Ballerina themed party! My Stepmom's nickname is Princess, but these ideas are more fit for a bit younger princesses lol (sorry Mom!)

Can you say a WOW! tablescape! (click on the pic to open up bigger to see all the details!) Can you imagine all the little girl's faces walking into a party that looked like this! If you break it down, it's really not that hard to accomplish! Big cupcake stand in the middle, contrasting napkins and plates, favor bags, teacups and a coordinating pleated fabric around a tablecloth.  Source  found via http://lemiga.blogspot.com

This DIY project would be a great alternative - it's one of those inexpensive round press board tables and 2 5 gallon buckets! Set up a few of these or even one for your little girl's room or playroom - fantastic! Source and tutorial

If you recall my "I used a stapler instead of sewing", you'll know why I love this one! No sew tutus!! So perfect for this party or to put in the dress up pile! Source and tutorial

Use alittle pink tulle to embellish anything and everything around! lol  The more fluff and fancy, the better!  Source

I couldn't leave you without a dessert! These are SOOO adorable, but are intimidating even for me to tackle... maybe I could pull off the crowns! lol... they are made with disco dust on top of the icing which gives it that extra sparkle! Source
