Firetruck Baby Shower

Just got done Spring cleaning the fridge - isn't it weird how something so simple can bring you such joy when you open it and it's sparkling, lol

Anyway... a sweet Frosted Fan is hosting a Firetruck Baby Shower soon and was having trouble finding inspiration... hope this helps!

Dalmatian Diaper Cake - Diaper cakes are so much fun, try just simple decorations to fit it in to your theme
Fire Truck Plate - these were my fav out of all I found
Fire Truck cupcake toppers- an easy way to theme your cupcakes with no work!
Cardboard Firetruck - this would be perfect to stash the baby gifts or put a plastic bin inside and put ice and cold drinks!
Baby Shower Advice & Game  - I love advice cards! The are so fun for the mom to read later and put in a memory book!
Fire Truck food tray - this would be a fun way for guests to eat! Or at least put cups in and use to serve napkins and silverware
Fire Truck Lollipop - perfect favors!
Fire Truck Stool - you say, stool!?!? huh? Wouldn't that look great in the center of a table as a cupcake stand on each of the steps?!?!  only 24.99 too at Target! and the mom-to-be could use in the baby's room!

Mickey & Minnie Mouse

You ever have a thousand things to make and can't seem to focus on getting on of them complete?!? That's my weekend so far lol... While I am staring at the mess that is my craft room, I'll post some inspiration for a Mickey and/or Minnie party!  Check out my Facebook post for a simple Oreo Mickey!

I LOVE this set up! So clever and all the primary colors look great! Source

This styrofoam Minnie centerpiece is too darling! You could change the bow (and boa!) and make it Micky or have both!  Source

Simple but fabulous buffet labels! If you don't have a Cricut, the shapes are simple enough to hand cut, so no excuses! ;o)  Source

YUM! Chocolate covered apples! It looks like they used marshmallows for the ears and jelly beans for the "buttons".  Super fun! Source

I love the bold blue of the icing - these Mickey & Minnie ear topped cupcakes would make all the kids smile! Source

Mmmmm... bite-sized fabulousness

Decorations are always eye candy, but so is how you present the food! Here are some deliciously prepared appetizers that will please any crowd!

I am open about being kabob obsessed! Have you seen tomatoes, olives, mozzarella, cucumber and some lettuce look so good!?!  Kabobs are also easy for your guests to pick up, snack and mingle at the same time.  Source
p.s. AND it's healthy, hello!!

Lettuce wedges - local restaurants do it, why can't we!?! I love the idea of the dressing on the wedge and surrounded by toppings.  This should make salad serving easier, quicker and much more fun!  Source unknown

Use a baked won-ton or tortilla shell to create a small carrier for something delicious like taco dip or spicy chicken! Source: Book: Practial Gourmet - Small Plates for Sharing

Instead of just serving regular shaped biscuits - cut them apart and put them back together in a fan shape (or make from scratch)! Use a muffin tin to keep them under control in the oven! Source and recipe/tutorial

How beautiful are these scallops!?!? If it weren't snowing, I would SO be trying this tonight! Source

Previous Appetizer Post....Just remember, whatever you serve, just serve it pretty!

don't mind the mess (again)...

Trying to make things easier for you all to search and find great party stuff on the site! Don't mind the mess while I change things up... again! ;o)

Giraffe Theme

I love Safari or Zoo themes! Today I'll focus just on Giraffes, though... you could do a cute baby giraffe theme or add them to your idea board for a zoo or safari theme - would be great for boys or girls!

Sources

Giraffe Cozi - great way to accessorize! Isn't the corset just too adorable!?!
Giraffe Cupcake Topper - Gumpaste/Fondant isn't the best tasting thing - so why not go with a flat topper that you can easily lift off and enjoy the cupcake underneath!
Giraffe Cupcake Wrapper - wrappers are so in right now! This looks amazing with a chocolate cupcake!
Giraffe Ribbon - use to carry your theme throughout - edge a white table cloth, add to placemats, signs, favor boxes - anything!
Giraffe Drink Holder - how adorable is this!?! Great favor for the little ones!
Giraffe Cupcake - This is some skill.. but how cute!!?!?
Giraffe Plush - inexpensive enough to use as favors or decorations
Giraffe Party Hat - So fabulous! I love all the extra details!

Pink Baby Shower (Part 2)

I am getting really excited about planning this pink themed shower! Here are a few more of my inspirations... then you'll just have to wait and see what I can pull off on a tight budget!

This baby plush girl is adorable! It comes in a small and large size - you could put on top of a diaper cake or just as a decoration.  Source

Of course we have to do some pink pompoms! These are so easy to make and cost so little! Great way to fill visual space on the cheap! I plan on trying to do in a few shades of pink and a few in white too.  Source

MMMM.... cake balls... you have to fit those in, right!?!? for those not familiar - crush up cake, add icing - mix, then dip in chocolate... hello!?!? Fabulousness!  Source

This is a fun project - Cut out felt dresses and glue together, add cotton balls to all and in one, add a button or something.  Whomever gets the special something is the winner! You can add a safety pin and have all the guests wear them! If you aren't feeling crafty, you can purchase at the Source

Another cookie contender - these baby onsies - so cute! Source

off to plan... and finish this bottle of wine ;o)

Pink Baby Shower (Part 1)

I just got a call to plan a pink-themed baby shower on a TIGHT budget! I am excited to start! Here are a few peeks at my inspiration so far...  I promise to post more and to post pics of the party (it's not until mid March).  Check out Facebook for the most adorable cookies...

I love this idea... these days you can get onsies at the dollar store!  I can either cut out paper or fabric "BABY" and hang it for a great and inexpensive banner! Source

Not really pumpkin season, but trying to think outside the box - I LOVE how these turned out and would really dress up a table for very little money! Maybe I can do different sized fruits - cantaloupe, apples, etc...  Source

This adorable washcloth cake would look stunning! I love the idea of the wash/burp cloths instead of diapers - since diapers have designs now and it kind of takes away from the look.  And how fantastically elegent does it look on the cake stand!!?!? The Source has a tutorial on how to do the elephants too!!!

This is SUCH a fun game to play...baby food tasting! Ensure to add some not so tasty flavors! Person that guesses the most wins! Source

Haven't picked the cupcake design yet, but these are a contender! The different faces are so cute! Source

Mushrooms (for multiple themes)

Mushrooms! (that don't make you feel funny heehee)... I have come across a lot of great Mushroom ideas lately and figured you guys could tuck them away for your themes of woodland, fairy, Alice in Wonderland or Mario Brothers.... so versitile!

Most of us couldn't afford to buy this set, but why not try and convert something into it? Just need a tapered base and a lid and paint it up! This would just be so adorable for one of the themes mentioned above! Source

Another way you could make them is with a tree stump and fabric covered top! Don't be shy non-crafters! Just need a scissors and a staple gun! p.s.... does this little girl not make you smile!?!?  Source

Hard boiled eggs with a slice of cherry tomato - hello!?! Fabulous!  Super cute and easy! Source

Cake pops! These are cake crumbled then mixed with icing, then molded into shape then dipped in chocolate (heaven!!!) .  I am thinking hmmm... marshmallow dab top with melted chocolate to "glue" on a nilla wafer (eat a few nilla wafers while you wait), then dip in chocolate - I bet it would look good!!! Source

Adorable cupakes! And so simple! Source

.....p.s. don't forget to friend Frost Me on Facebook (just click on badge to the right) to see one more additional inspiration!

Baby Einstein

A reader asked for ideas for a joint Baby Einstein theme party and a baby blessing... to pull them both off, I would recommend taking the Baby Einstein characters and doing them in pastel colors instead - that way you could visually merge the two together.  Do pastel balloons where some are solid with crosses or some type of related print and the others are solid to go with the Baby Einstein characters.  Make a cake that celebrates the baby blessing and cupcakes that celebrate the birthday.... hope this helps!!

This adorable wall backdrop and cardboard characters would be amazing! Imagine all the kids having their picture taken with this scene! Source and full party

I love the multiple items they used to decorate the ceiling! Don't just think streamers people! Do you see the characters hanging inside "frames"?!?!? You could just print them out and glue onto cardboard and cut cardboard out for the frame or get those make it yourself frames at the craft store.  (same) Source

Add a banner to welcome your guests... Source
Do a cute invitation that you can list both celebrations on - Source

Give out these little guys in your favor boxes.... Source

Get a shirt personalized for your little one.... Source

Add your theme to a lollipop and matching tag! Source

Finish off with a fabulous cake or do a theme cupcake.  Source
