More Halloween! - Simple touches

First, sorry for my absence, wish I could tell you what I have been up to! Hopefully very soon!!!

Are you ready for Halloween!? It's only days away!  So here are some fun, fast, easy ways to Frost your night!

Dollar store bats spray painted take up such a new beautiful life! You could do this for any theme and spray paint helps unify the color theme and makes them look so expensive.  Source: Matthew Mead

Another fun touch would be to use vampire fangs as napkin rings! you could spray paint these too! If you are having a spooky dinner, dip the fangs in red paint! Source

Use mini cookie cutters (like these here) in some apple slices! You can do this for any theme! Source

Curious!? ... toilet paper rolls with different eye cutouts - insert glow in the dark stick and put outside in the bushes... instant glowing eyes!!! So clever! Source and tutorial

Halloween: Edgar Allan Poe style!

The place we went this weekend to partake in the Renaissance Fair activities also hosts an Edgar Allan Poe production each year. It's fantastically done with actors dressed up reciting Poe's poems - truly entertaining if you are a Poe fan ;o)

Why not carry the theme home and do your Halloween based on Poe! Some of his tales are creepier than most scary movies!

Just a few touches can really transform your space... few overlooking ravens and bats and some quotes make the perfect touches! Source

Few items place together make more impact then scattered around... a book of poems, old typewriter and another quote board makes a fantastic vignette.  Source

With your food table, don't forget to keep it dark and mysterious... I love the touches here of the raven, top hat and candelabra! Source
With ravens being such a big part of Poe, make sure to place black birds all around. I love this one just perched on the typewriter! Source

Halloween Party Inspiration continued! Dark & Spooky

It's so cold here! I am starting to think about Christmas, but I am holding myself back because there are a few celebrations in between we need to focus on! So that being said... let's talk Halloween!

Are you having a sweet or spooky Halloween at your house? If you are going dark and spooky...here are some ways to Frost your night!

I am so in love with this dinner setup! I think the vintage window decorated in the back really got me sold! Such a fun and clever way to decorate! Also, it allows you to keep the rest of the decor simple, black and some candles really finishes it off clean and fast without a lot of investment.  Source

Set up a "Pick Your Poison" station! Chalkboard, plastic cauldron and a few adult options is all you need! Source
Use silicone molds to create skulls to serve up in glass jars! Source and purchase

For dessert... make "poison" cookies! Simple food gel and stamps can make your possibilities endless for any party.  AND it's super simple for anyone, even those a little scared of decorating! Source and tutorial
