Pink party ideas/inspiration

Hope everyone had a great week! ... when a theme is hard to come by, fall back on just a color (or 3!).  If you use only 1 color - ensure that you do many variations of the color to ensure the party doesn't look too flat.  Another trick to using only one color - make sure there is tons of different textures and patterns! ... here are a few ideas to inspire you next Pink event!

Here's a great example of using different variations of the same color... Source

Make a super sweet wreath... Source and tutorial
Look for unique ways to incorporate your color... this is not only super clever, but also beautiful! Source

Little details go a long way! Slice of pink paper with adhered pearls - super cute! Source

Pink Religious Celebration party ideas/inspiration

One of our Frosted family asked for inspiration for an upcoming first communion... My thoughts are why not do something ultra girly, like pink... but keep it also simple so that you don't lose focus on the religious aspect of the event.

Here are a few thoughts....

I love the idea of doing a take on a wishing tree... why not have this as your centerpiece and have guests write spiritual thoughts or guidance for her. Source

I think fun elements like ice cream or slushy drinks to match the occasion would be kid approved and still appropriate for the gathering.  Source and recipe

Don't shy away from trendy party elements, just make sure they aren't too "loud" of a theme... it's the year of the donut, so why not display some of them in color coordinated cupcake liners! Source

I think favor boxes would be fun to do! There are so many readily available religious items (even from the dollar store!) that would make for great gifts for everyone to take home!  Source

How adorable are these communion dress cookies?!? What a sweet idea! Source

Another treat idea would be a small cross topped cupcake (sorry donuts, we still want our cake!) Source

Pink party ideas...

Here are some ways to frost your next pink themed party.... but look closely, you can do these for any color or theme!

A great idea for any party (and helps control heat/sun on the food!)... a party canopy! Hang coordinating fabric on the inside for an eye drawing pop of color! Love the over-sized balloons too! Also, don't be afraid to mix different shades of the same color! Source unknown :o(

Make these tulle balls (hopefully less frustrating than then tissue paper ones! lol)  Source and tutorial

Here's a fun way to add a little color throughout your party space! Ribbons and bow garland! Source

Look for ways to incorporate your color into even store bought items... Love how simple labels and handmade blowers turn these simple metal containers into fabulous favors! Source

I love all these pink details!!! Sprinkled covered marshmallows with a sweet little flower top on the lolli sticks! Like any great dessert table, other coordinating candies are placed throughout.  Peek in the corner - I love the fur and boa details!!! Source

Pink Baby Shower (Part 2)

I am getting really excited about planning this pink themed shower! Here are a few more of my inspirations... then you'll just have to wait and see what I can pull off on a tight budget!

This baby plush girl is adorable! It comes in a small and large size - you could put on top of a diaper cake or just as a decoration.  Source

Of course we have to do some pink pompoms! These are so easy to make and cost so little! Great way to fill visual space on the cheap! I plan on trying to do in a few shades of pink and a few in white too.  Source

MMMM.... cake balls... you have to fit those in, right!?!? for those not familiar - crush up cake, add icing - mix, then dip in chocolate... hello!?!? Fabulousness!  Source

This is a fun project - Cut out felt dresses and glue together, add cotton balls to all and in one, add a button or something.  Whomever gets the special something is the winner! You can add a safety pin and have all the guests wear them! If you aren't feeling crafty, you can purchase at the Source

Another cookie contender - these baby onsies - so cute! Source

off to plan... and finish this bottle of wine ;o)

Pink Baby Shower (Part 1)

I just got a call to plan a pink-themed baby shower on a TIGHT budget! I am excited to start! Here are a few peeks at my inspiration so far...  I promise to post more and to post pics of the party (it's not until mid March).  Check out Facebook for the most adorable cookies...

I love this idea... these days you can get onsies at the dollar store!  I can either cut out paper or fabric "BABY" and hang it for a great and inexpensive banner! Source

Not really pumpkin season, but trying to think outside the box - I LOVE how these turned out and would really dress up a table for very little money! Maybe I can do different sized fruits - cantaloupe, apples, etc...  Source

This adorable washcloth cake would look stunning! I love the idea of the wash/burp cloths instead of diapers - since diapers have designs now and it kind of takes away from the look.  And how fantastically elegent does it look on the cake stand!!?!? The Source has a tutorial on how to do the elephants too!!!

This is SUCH a fun game to play...baby food tasting! Ensure to add some not so tasty flavors! Person that guesses the most wins! Source

Haven't picked the cupcake design yet, but these are a contender! The different faces are so cute! Source

Dress up your drinks!

I need to vent for a second... any other blog sisters feel like NO pair of pants was made to fit her body? I am tall, not thin and have some child birthin' hips lol... and trying to find pants makes me suicidal... that inspired today's post of adding a little frosting to your glass of juice, water or in my case tonight - wine lol!

ps.  don't forget to join my facebook page to see an extra item related to each day's blog!

Don't forget to do something as simple as add a slice of fruit to the rim of the glasses you are serving - it makes a huge impact! And don't limit it to parties! Throw an orange slice on your kid's fruit punch glass at dinner, too! Fancy isn't just for company, remember!  Source

I first got hooked on cucumbers in water at a spa session (I splurged for my bday!).  It is surprisingly tasty and refreshing! Instead of slicing the cucumber like you would for a salad, slice long ways and put it on a skewer! So simple! This would be great for a hot summer's day! (please bring me summer!!)  Source

You don't have to limit yourself to edible items for the rim! Think outside the box... anything you can cut a slice into, you can adorn a glass! Match the theme of your party! Source

Don't stop at the rim! Why not make drink holders that not only look adorable, but would double as a coaster! You could even let your guests take them home as a favor! Source
