Tea Party ideas/inspiration

A great theme to get your girlfriends together is a fancy tea party! Check here for older, but still fresh!, Frosting for a tea party.

Print out invites on thick paper, tea stain them, add a string and tag for your invites! Source unknown :o(
















 Glue together mismatched tea cups and saucers to create a whimsical serving stand! Source

You could serve a little snack with an upside cup and saucer... use cookie cutters to create a little peek-a-boo shape! Source

You don't have to be an experience icer for these... make teacup sugar cookies, ice, then use any stencil and food coloring! Think of the possibilities! Source

Tips & Tricks Tuesday! - Mother's Day Tea Bag Cookies!

Not sure if you recognize these original creations I made last year for my boss, but I put a tutorial in the online magazine this year for a Mother's Day Tea (in case you missed it ;o)!

Sophisticated Tea Party!

I love the idea of doing a tea party - young or old! Especially for those that don't like do drink too much ;o) I think it would be a great reason to have your girlfriends over (or your little one's girlfriends) without needing a holiday or birthday!

Of course you need tea sandwiches! Everything looks better on a tiered tray topped with fresh flowers! Even egg salad or cucumber sandwiches - inexpensive and oh so yummy! Source and recipe (curried chicken salad)

How about this sweet little detail? Tie a creamer or tea cup to the end of your tablecloth! Not only a great touch, but also practical if you are outside - it'll keep it from blowing! Source

Serve blooming teas in clear glasses or teapots - they are so beautiful to watch "bloom" and taste fantastic too! Source

How beautiful would these bottles be to serve water or ice tea in?  Use a stencil or piece of lace, then stipple paint or glass etching to create a really beautiful, unique look!  Source found via attentiontodetail blog

Homemade lavender sachets would make the perfect favor! They look beautiful tied off in a little ribbon.  If you aren't up to sewing, just find muslin bags to fill with the fresh lavender.  Source and tutorial

(I've shown these before...but thought it was worth showing again for this theme!) I came up with these cookies for my boss's bday.  I cut out a tea bag shape out of wax paper and used to cut out shortbread cookie dough.  I used a round frosting tip to cut a hole at the top of each.  Baked, dipped in chocolate then threaded real thread thru and cut out paper and stamped a cupcake on each side to look like a tag.  I thought they would make a great choice to serve at this theme, too!

Messages - Frosted Style...

Ok, not exactlllllyyyyyy a party theme, but Frosted none-the-less! I love the idea of doing special messages to your loved ones! I remember as a kid getting little paper notes from my mom in my lunch bag sometimes...

These lunch box cards are adorable! They have "did you know" as well as a positive message on one side.  Source

You can find a lot of fun cookie stamps these days, even ones that you can write your own message! How fun would that be to open up a cookie that says "I love you", "Happy Bday", "Good Job" or "thank you", etc. ?!? Source, cookie letter stamps

How sweet is this? Remove the tag to a tea bag and make a little envelope and attach.  Write a special little note inside! If you are doing a tea party, write a fortune or something funny about the bday girl! Source

Make your own scratch off cards! You could use this idea for just about any party or just to send a special message.  Source and tutorial

You know those magnetic words that you can make messages out of?  Why not do it in cookies! You could make a great message and put it in a decorated box, let someone figure out the message, then eat it! lol make sure to use edible markers!  Source and tutorial

Teabags! Perfect cookie for a Tea Party!

For my boss's birthday I made these shortbread tea bags... I was inspired when I saw some wooden tea bags as part of a kid's play food set - I thought hmmm one day I could do shortbread dipped in chocolate! I made little tags with cupcakes and used embroidery thread.  I used a round icing tip to punch a little hole in each one before I baked so that I could thread it later.
